Weekly Blog: November 23-30, 2009

This is a hand drawn sketch of an alternate design for the generator/reactor. It uses the Orange logo as the recharging surface.

This guitar/bass is cool, but who wants to carry it around?(glovebox.zine)

This is a very fuel efficient car. I wouldn't want to wreck in it though. (gloveboxzine.gov."

This is the coldest place in the solar system. It's one of Saturn's moons. (sonicstate.com)

Weekly Blog: November 16-23, 2009

I'm glad I didn't invent the spring shoe. It seems like half the time I'd be doing PR/damage control, and pulling dirt and mud out of my own pair.

This generator doubles as a camping stove. (Hand drawn sketch)

A hand drawn sketch of a scale/generator/footwarmer!

Hand drawn sketch of a hat that evaporates rain and weather using a forcefield.

Weekly Blog: November 9-16, 2009

This is a hand drawn sketch I did of a hydrogen powered car that runs on water from a hose. I'm pretty sure these will exist someday.

If this elephant can walk on a prosthetic limb, then I can definitely stay up and do my homework tonight. ( image from treehugger.com)

Anyone for scuba? This new mask has an HD camera built into it. For when you're swimmin' with the fishes. (Scuba.net)

The shortest man in the world plays guitar on his 18th birthday. Happy birthday, little f*****!
Somebody had to build that tiny guitar. (msnbc.com)

Weekly Blog: November 2-9, 2009

This is a hand drawn sketch I did of a home security system which shocks intruders.

This new facemaker software claims to be able to create a face in ten minutes. Hmmm...

This image from eureksa.net shows how nicotene miraculously does not kill immediately us as it seems is should . I recently started and stopped smoking, so science in this direction interests me.

THIS PEDAL BOARD FOR GUITAR is the top of the line by the most acclaimed company; it is a breakthrough in guitar pedal technology. And I'm coveting it most ferociously.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN!
(This is a character I'm working on called 'STALKINGHEAD')

My project team is toying w/ the idea of creating a portable device charger.
Here's a few examples of ones on the market:

Weekly Blog: October 19th-26th, 2009

At some point I realized that it's way easier to hash out my ideas on paper than while experimenting with new software I can barely control. This first light resembles a garden-hose sized rope of neon surrounding the room where the walls meet the ceiling. The twin dimmer knobs change color and intensity of light.

These lights occupy the space where a cobweb would normally be. Rather than the jagged angles of a corner you have smooth, contoured curves illuminated in a triangle shape, bringing light into the room in a beautiful way.

This light takes the shape of the entire ceiling itself, and can be created by using either charged phosphorescent paper or roll-out wallpaper LED technology. Lean way back and relax because the LED version doubles as a planetarium style TV screen.

These underarm incandescent fabric lights are powered by the static electricity generated during your everyday walking around. About the size of a knee-patch, they each shine comparable Lumens to a standard medium sized flashlight.

weekly Blog: October 12th-19th 2009

This is my hand-drawn sketch of the dread and difficulty I have experienced during my computer's transition into the world of Autodesk Education Suite.

I painted this rather disturbing image with acrylics a few weeks ago. It's painted on paper instead of canvas, and I mixed a lot of the colors on the page itself instead of on a palette.

This is an oil painting I did a few weeks ago. It's a portrait of the mischief I see in Ingrid Bergman.

This is an oil painting I just finished. The shapes are mimicking a satellite photo of farmland, and the colors had a mind of their own.

Weekly Blog: October 5th-12th, 2009

This week I'm blogging about new 2009 technology. My mom always warned me not to ride a motorcycle, but what about a motorized unicycle?(This image is from spectrum.mit.edu) I wonder if this is using gyroscopes similar to the ones used in modern steady-cams for films?
This is a new guitar pick that just came out. It's supposed to bring out much more tone from your strings and not slip out of your hand when it's sweaty. I'll believe it when I see it. I can just imagine dropping this see-through guitar pick and searching for it onstage."Where did it go?" Guitar picks are hard enough to keep track of as it is. Music is one of the main reasons I'm studying film and digital media.
This graph is mildly amusing. It's from a site called bhc3.wordpress.com , where I was reading about how to tell if a tweet is spam. Anyway, this graph is a "hype chart " of this year's new technologies.

Weekly Blog: Sept.21-October 5th 2009

This series of hand-drawn sketches are fanciful and fictitious inventions which help me practice directly communicating a new concept to paper. In the one directly above, the spokesmodel asks "Shall I continue to entice you with my lip-gloss or will that over excite you and force me to blow my 'Perp-Whistle'?"
Right above that is an ad for the Edible Shoe/Roach Motel. This emergency food source also traps and kills roaches!
At the top of the page,Kick your feet up after a long hard ride with this motorcycle helmet/footstool. The patented super-squishy foot cushions provide extra protection in case of an accident and they're megastylish!

Red / Blue Chair

Creating this with the Sketchup program was a challenge.

The Red And Blue Chair took our hero to the deep desert and revealed it was more than red and blue.
"How could you?" he laughed.
The chair replied "I did it all for you."

IFDM Assignment 3 Illustrator Experiments

Above are my first meddlings with 'Illustrator'. I'm mixing shapes from my haptic models with vector graphics. I'd like to learn better ways to manipulate the background pictures, and how to crop the overall image .
